How to choose a route for a basic connection

Start with how you plan to use the service, not just the region name. Routes, devices, target services, and refund terms are all covered in one setup guide.

Peak-hour connection quality depends on your local network, the route taken, and the destination service—not just the distance between regions. When choosing a route, start with the target region, then compare how the IEPL dedicated line, relayed route, and direct route perform. If a page loads but video keeps buffering, check the destination service and the route separately instead of repeatedly changing every setting. Keep a route that works for everyday use as a backup, and retest if congestion occurs. Route type can help guide your choice, but it does not guarantee the same speed at all times.

Choose by route type

Direct route

Keep the region the same while comparing different paths. Check the user panel for current options.

VPNBasic uses military-grade encryption, and connection configurations are available through the user panel. Security also means keeping your account password, subscription details, and device permissions safe. Subscription details are linked to your account, so don't post them publicly or share them with strangers. When troubleshooting, redact sensitive information first. Encryption protects the connection; it does not replace security measures on the destination website. Check website addresses, keep your client up to date, and grant only the permissions you need.

One subscription works on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux, with no limit on the number of devices online at once. Set up your work computer and personal devices separately without choosing another plan just to switch devices. Keep in mind that device count and plan data are separate: unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data, so account for usage across all connected devices. Permission prompts and import screens vary by platform. Follow the relevant guide rather than relying on screenshots from another platform.

For tools like Claude, Cursor, and Copilot, check more than whether the website loads: make sure chat responses, editor requests, and terminal connections work consistently. Choose a route that meets the target service's regional requirements, then check that your browser and development tools use the same network path. If the website works but the editor doesn't, check the tool's own proxy settings first. Access can also depend on account eligibility, regional rules, and service availability. A network connection does not grant platform access or replace a subscription to the tool.

For streaming, the region is just a starting point. Playback also depends on the platform's content catalog, your account entitlements, and how it identifies your current exit route. Choose a target region, then open a title and test playback; this tells you more than simply loading the homepage. If the catalog changes or playback shows an error, check your account region, client cache, and route selection. VPNBasic provides international routes, but streaming availability depends on testing the target platform. Regions shown in the route list do not guarantee access to every title at all times, and streaming subscriptions are not included.

VPNBasic offers a 7-day money-back guarantee so you can see how it works on your own network and devices. After activation, test the things you use every day—web access, work tools, and performance in the regions you need—instead of relying only on the connection indicator. To request a refund, submit a ticket through the user panel with your order details and reason. Refunds are subject to the Terms of Service. If you need troubleshooting help, include your device, route type, and error message in the ticket, but don't share account information publicly.

Nearby regions don't mean identical routes

A direct route connects from your local network to the destination node. A relayed route adds an access and forwarding step, while an IEPL dedicated line uses a different network arrangement. Geographic distance affects route length, but access quality, detours, and congestion also affect performance. A map alone can't tell you which route will work best. For everyday browsing, start with a region you use often; for work tools, prioritize the region requirements of the service itself.

Change one setting at a time

If a connection fails, note the region, route type, and error before changing anything. Then switch routes while keeping the other settings unchanged. If you change the region, protocol, and client all at once, it is hard to tell what made a difference. Web browsing, file transfers, and ongoing conversations can behave differently, so test the apps you actually use rather than treating one successful connection as proof that everything will work.

Status displays are a guide to route selection; actual performance depends on your local network and the destination service.

Import, connect, and test with the apps you use

After getting the client, make sure it matches your operating system, then import your personal subscription from the user panel. When prompted for connection permissions, check the app and purpose before proceeding. Once the subscription is imported, choose a region and route, connect, then test a website or work tool you use regularly. A normal connection status only confirms that the client connected; test the destination service separately.

If your browser works but another app doesn't, check whether that app needs its own proxy settings. Test again after changing networks, especially after waking a device from sleep or switching away from Wi-Fi. Reimport subscriptions through the user panel; never paste subscription details into a public website for testing.

Monthly plans and data options

Monthly plans are based on data allowance, not the number of devices. Data resets monthly on your activation date, and mid-cycle upgrades are prorated for the remaining days. Consider your usage habits before choosing an allowance.

60GB monthly plan

Data resets monthly on your activation date

¥9.9 / month

A good fit for browsing, research, and occasional use of work tools. If you often transfer files or stream video, consider your actual data usage rather than just how many days you use the service.

  • 60GB of data per month
  • No limit on devices online at once
  • 7-day money-back guarantee
  • Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT
Choose this plan
250GB plan

250GB monthly plan

Data resets monthly on your activation date

¥18 / month

For users who switch between work tools, web access, and streaming in their everyday routine. Use the plan across computers and mobile devices, and account for data usage across all of them.

  • 250GB of data per month
  • No limit on devices online at once
  • 7-day money-back guarantee
  • Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT
Choose this plan

500GB monthly plan

Data resets monthly on your activation date

¥28 / month

For users who transfer files and stream frequently and need a larger data allowance. A larger allowance means more available data; it does not promise faster speeds or access to additional content regions.

  • 500GB of data per month
  • No limit on devices online at once
  • 7-day money-back guarantee
  • Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT

Data packs: use at your own pace, never expire

Choose based on how you use it

¥158300GB

¥3581000GB

¥6583000GB

If your usage is irregular, compare the billing options for data packs and monthly plans. Data packs last until used and never expire; monthly plan data resets on your activation date. Choose based on your usage pattern, not just the listed price. A pack may suit occasional bursts of work, while a monthly plan may fit regular everyday use.

Unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data. Keep track of your remaining allowance when using multiple devices at once. Before paying, check the plan name, data allowance, and billing terms in the user panel. If you have questions about an upgrade or a bill, confirm them through a support ticket so you don't confuse different billing options.

Common questions before you start

Review account setup, devices, billing, and access limitations before configuring your connection. Here are common questions about choosing a plan and connecting for the first time.

Do I need an email address to create an account?

No email required. Create an account with a username and password. Keep your account details safe and choose a strong password you don't use on other websites. After signing in, use the user panel to check your plan, get your subscription, and submit support tickets. When asking for help, describe the issue without posting your password or full subscription details publicly.

Does unlimited devices mean unlimited data?

You can have unlimited devices online at once, but data usage depends on your plan: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date. Device count and data allowance are separate, so account for video streaming, file transfers, and simultaneous use across devices.

Will AI tools and streaming always work once I'm connected?

Test the target service to find out. A successful connection does not mean your account has the right regional eligibility, subscription benefits, or access permissions. First test an ordinary webpage, then try an actual conversation, editor request, or video playback. If one service has a problem, check its status, account rules, and your current exit route instead of assuming every route is unavailable.

What's the difference between a monthly plan and a data pack, and how can I pay?

Monthly plan data resets on your activation date. Data packs last until used and never expire: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Payments are accepted via Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Compare monthly plans if you use the service regularly; consider a data pack if your usage is more intermittent. Check the user panel for plan details and payment instructions.

How can I request a refund if it doesn't work on my network?

VPNBasic offers a 7-day money-back guarantee. Submit a refund request through a ticket in the user panel; see the Terms of Service for details. After activation, test your usual devices and target services as soon as you can, and keep any relevant error messages. If you'd like help troubleshooting first, share your operating system, route type, and what you were doing—but never send account credentials through public channels.
